Milagros ("miracles") are small metal religious charms and symbols found in many areas of Latin America, especially Mexico and Peru. These small charms, in a wide range of subjects, are typically nailed or pinned to crosses or wooden statues of various saints, the Virgin Mary or Christ, as well as sacred objects such as this cross. Created by artists in the colonial town of San Miguel de Allende, Mexico, this and the other crosses in our collection are individually handpainted in the style for which they’re famous. The wood cross shown here measures 12"H, and features an array of Milagros in the center of the cross sections, framed in blue, with an Our Lady of Guadalupe milagro at center. A lovely floral rose motif accents each of the four points of the cross, completing this beautiful work of art. Slight variations in Milagros and coloring will occur with each piece, due to the handcrafted artistry of each cross. | Mexican Handpainted Cross with Milagros & Our Lady of Guadalupe
